TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 2, 2019 Iridium Communications (Nasdaq: IRDM) will continue maintenance and support work for the ground infrastructure of the Department of Defense’s Enhanced Mobile Satellite Service gateway under a $54M contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency, ExecutiveBiz reported April 23.
The company said April 22 its satellite constellation powers the communications capabilities facilitated by the EMSS gateway to support DoD missions.
“This new contract provides the mechanism for Iridium to help ensure the DoD gateway is able to fully support the new capabilities and services needed to meet the emerging requirements of the warfighter,” said Scott Scheimreif, executive vice president of government programs at Iridium.
