TYSONS CORNER, VA, February 12, 2019 Sean Berg, senior vice president and general manager of Forcepoint, has said the risk-adaptive approach employed by the Transportation Security Agency’s TSA PreCheck airport screening program exemplifies a way for federal agencies to address growing cyber threats, ExecutiveBiz reported Feb. 1.
Berg wrote in an opinion piece published Jan. 31 that the program, which looks into known user behaviors and voluntarily submitted background information to deliver targeted traveler screening, shows how risk-adaptive security is more optimal than a one-size-fits-all approach.
“By focusing on individuals and their behaviors … the government can implement more targeted and effective security measures — ones that detect when data or credentials have likely been compromised — that do not inhibit productivity,” he said.
