TYSONS CORNER, VA, February 11, 2019 Cubic (NYSE: CUB) and iGov will work to integrate commercial off-the-shelf hardware built by the former’s DTECH Labs subsidiary into a small-form-factor data communications platform for the U.S. Marine Corps under a previously awarded $174M contract, ExecutiveBiz reported Feb. 1.
The Cubic Mission Solutions-iGov team will provide the platform — developed with reduced size, weight and power requirements — to replace the Tactical Data Network Data Distribution System-Modular as the “backbone” for communications between the Marine Air Ground Task Force units, Cubic said Jan. 31.
“Cubic continues to invest in significant advancements in computing, storage and memory for small form-factor command post applications,” noted Mike Barthlow, vice president and general manager for rugged internet-of-things solutions at CMS.
