TYSONS CORNER, VA, December 19, 2018 Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) has rolled out a Virginia-class nuclear-powered submarine that it built with General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) Electric Boat business, two months after the vessel’s christening as USS Delaware, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
HII said Monday its Newport News Shipbuilding division launched USS Delaware into the James River, after which the submarine was sent for final outfitting, testing and crew certification for a planned delivery to the U.S. Navy within next year.
