TYSONS CORNER, VA, November 5, 2018 A Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) spacecraft that was built to study Vesta and Ceres in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter has concluded its mission after 11 years of providing data and images to researchers, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
The company said Thursday the Dawn spacecraft, which was the first NASA science mission to fully utilize solar electric ion propulsion when it was launched in 2007, also completed two secondary science observation missions before it depleted its attitude-control fuel and ceased operations.
