TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 30, 2018 Brad Smith, president and chief legal officer of Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), has said the company will continue to work with the government to help shape the use of artificial intelligence and other technologies and support efforts to protect the U.S. against threats, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
He wrote in a blog post published Friday that Microsoft aims to use its position as a corporate citizen to contribute to the discussion about the issues surrounding AI as well as enable the government to have access to technology that could help it defend the country.
“[Well] engage not only actively but proactively across the U.S. government to advocate for policies and laws that will ensure that AI and other new technologies are used responsibly and ethically,” Smith noted.
