TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 30, 2018 ” Dan Kent, chief technology officer of the public sector business at Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO), believes there will be an increase in data migration to the cloud and opportunities for cloud providers to support government customers in this effort, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
Federal Times reported Friday that Kent predicts an estimated 75 percent of information will be hosted on the cloud and that the government will mostly seek cloud-based offerings for its future applications in line with the Cloud Smart program.
Cisco was part of the discussion at a federal cloud event where government and industry leaders spoke of ways to determine the “best fit” when moving data to the cloud amid security concerns.
