The U.S. Navy has released a solicitation for the potential nine-year, end-user hardware portion of the Next Generation Enterprise Network Recompete contract.
A FedBizOpps notice posted Monday says Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command plans to award a single indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for NGEN-Rs hardware portion that has a three-year base term and six option years.
The contract covers the delivery of hardware devices to the government for the use of classified secret internet protocol network router SIPRNet and unclassified non-secured internet protocol network router NIPRNet networks, according to the performance work statement.
Hardware systems such as desktop, laptop, tablet, ultra-small desktop, two-in-one detachables and thin/zero client devices may be either procured as a service or acquired.
Federal News Radio reported that Deltek estimates the hardware contract to be worth at least $250M over the nine-year period.

The request for proposals came two weeks after Perspecta (NYSE: PRSP) received a potential one-year, $787.3M contract extension to continue to provide support for the Next Generation Enterprise Network program.
Now that the NGEN-R competition is officially underway, Perspecta is ready to earn its position to lead the transition and modernization of the Department of the Navys largest [information technology] network, Mac Curtis, Perspecta president and CEO, said in a statement.
The service will accept solicitation-related questions until Oct. 8 and proposals through Nov. 19, according to the notice.
