TYSONS CORNER, VA, September 18, 2018 A Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) division has officially started the construction of a future Legend-class national security cutter during a keel-laying ceremony held with the U.S. Coast Guard, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
The company said Friday Mississippi-based Ingalls Shipbuilding will now begin work on USCGC Stone, which is currently designated WMSL-758 and will be the ninth Legend-class cutter that the shipyard has built for the Coast Guard to support maritime security operations.
