TYSONS CORNER, VA, September 17, 2018 Nutanix (Nasdaq: NTNX) will provide a Defense Department agency a cloud platform to operate 15 remote sites running separate networks, as part of an estimated $20M contract awarded during the fourth quarter of its 2018 fiscal year, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
The company said Sept. 10 the DoD customer will use the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform software to support edge computing and address a need following power losses experienced with a previous technology.
“Government agencies face enormous pressure to control costs, streamline IT infrastructure and maintain application performance from basic IT functions to critical national security tasks,” said Chris Howard, vice president for public sector sales at Nutanix, noting that the company will continue to support the government mission.
