TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 16, 2018 An Inmarsat Government L-band satellite communications system has helped General Atomics aeronautical systems division control an MQ-9B SkyGuardian remotely piloted aircraft on its first flight across the Atlantic, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
The SwiftBroadband system, which uses the I-4 satellite network to provide worldwide connectivity, was used in selecting routes and running data applications throughout the medium-altitude, long-endurance RPA’s trans-Atlantic flight test, Inmarsat said Thursday.
