TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 25, 2018 Boeing (NYSE: BA) and the U.S. Air Force anticipate the first rollout of the KC-46 aerial refueling tanker in October, with a total of 18 aircraft, nine sets of refueling pods and two spare engines scheduled for delivery by April 2019, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.
Bloomberg reported Thursday Air Force Undersecretary Matthew Donovan unveiled the new schedule, which would be two months ahead of a previous projection.
“[The] KC-46 is a top priority for us, and we have the best of Boeing working to ensure the Air Force gets their tankers as quickly as possible,” said Leanne Caret, CEO of Boeing’s defense, space and security business and a 2018 Wash100 awardee.
