TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 10, 2018 Globecomm Systems will provide radio and television programming transmission services to customers in the Middle East and North Africa under a contract from the Broadcasting Board of Governors via the General Services Administration‘s Complex Commercial SATCOM Solutions vehicle, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
The independent U.S. government agency selected Globecomm to deploy its satellite transponder, terrestrial fiber and teleport capabilities to help transmit the Middle East Broadcasting Network‘s Radio Sawa audio and Alhurra video content, the company said Tuesday.
“This project underlines the companys focus on the transition of complex government-owned and -operated satellite and terrestrial networks to commercial content delivery services,” said Dwight Hunsicker, executive vice president and general manager of Globecomms government division.
