Scottsdale, Ariz.-based law enforcement technology provider Axon has bought Safarilands VIEVU subsidiary, which offers camera and cloud-based evidence management systems to the public safety sector.
Axon said Friday Safariland has also agreed to supply holster devices for TASERConducted Electric Weapon systems under a partnership agreement between the two companies.
Sean McCarthy, general manager of VIEVU, said the combination seeks to offer new camera software features to customers soon.
The majority of VIEVU’s workforce will move from their current location in Seattle to Axons office within the same city.
VIEVU has provided body-worn cameras and video and cloud management platforms to the police departments of New York City; Miami-Dade county, Fla.; Phoenix; Oakland, Calif.; and Aurora, Colo.
