TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 26, 2018 A Lockheed Martin-built (NYSE: LMT) spacecraft is scheduled for launch in May to support a NASA mission that aims to study Mars’ seismic activity and interior components, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory said Tuesday the InSight lander will lift off on May 5 from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California — the first time an interplanetary spacecraft will launch from the East Coast — to explore the crust, mantle and core of Mars in order to understand how the planet formed.
