TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 28, 2018 Boeings (NYSE: BA) HorizonX Ventures division has invested in Myriota, an Adelaide, Australia-based internet of things startup, in a bid to help the former advance its direct-to-orbit platform designed to facilitate communications for IoT-connected devices in remote locations, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
The company said Monday HorizonX Ventures participated in the Series A funding round that raised $15 million for Myriota, joining other investors such as Blue Sky Venture Capital, Main Sequence Ventures, Right Click Capital and Singtel Innov8.
Myriotas satellite communication platform is designed to enable two-way communications between land-based microtransmitters and low-Earth-orbit nanosatellites to allow data sharing through narrow bandwidths as well as support operations in the defense, logistics, maritime, utilities and agricultural sectors.
