The U.S. Transportation Command will now start the migration of data and applications to an Amazon Web Services-built cloud platform designed to host intelligence community clients™ workloads classified at the œsecret level, Nextgov reported Tuesday.
Trancom™s decision to move data to the AWS Secret Region came after Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) decided to retract its bid protest March 8.
Microsoft told Nextgov it made the decision since the issues were addressed to the company™s satisfaction.
The command announced its plan in December to award AWS a contract in order to facilitate the transition of data to the company™s cloud platform.
Transcom™s announcement came a month after the company launched the AWS Secret Region that can be accessed by IC agencies through the Commercial Cloud Services contract.
