David Young, regional vice president of strategic government at CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL), has said he believes the company’s purchase of Level 3 Communications provides CenturyLink an opportunity to provide integrated technology offerings for federal clients and manage current and new government contracts, FierceTelecom reported Tuesday.
“If you look at the combined capabilities that we can now use to architect solutions, it puts us in a whole different realm than what the two companies were able to do on a standalone basis,†said Young, a 2018 Wash100 recipient.
He noted that CenturyLink prepares to seek new opportunities that will emerge from the Defense Department’s Global Network Services contract and the General Services Administration‘s Enterprise Infrastructure Services contract as the company works to integrate Level 3.
CenturyLink is one of the 10 companies that secured in August 2017 a spot on the $50 billion EIS contract that replaces Networx as a procurement vehicle for telecommunication services.
The company also won a position on the Defense Information Systems Agency’s $4.3 billion GNS contract in December 2015.
