TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 22, 2018 ” BAE Systems has developed a microwave close-in weapon system that it hopes to install on U.S. Navy vessels to supplement the Mk38 defense platform and counter threats such as aircraft, drones, missiles and other ships, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
The Drive reported Thursday the technology is comprised of planar emitters that can be mounted on the Mk38 and fire an electromagnetic pulse in the microwave spectrum to jam the electronics on adversary platforms.
