TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 8, 2018 ” An SSL-built spacecraft developed for NASA‘s in-orbit satellite servicing effort has completed the space agency’s mission preliminary design review that would advance the program to the Key Decision Point C phase, ExecutiveBiz reported Dec. 21.
The Maxar Technologies business unit said Dec. 20 it collaborated with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center™s satellite servicing projects division in the development of the robotic Restore-L space vehicle designed to refuel a U.S. government satellite in low-Earth orbit.
Richard White, president of SSL’s government systems business, noted that the satellite servicing technologies that Restore-L will work to demonstrate are “critically” significant to national security, commercial development of LEO activities as well as upcoming NASA missions to cislunar space and Mars.
