TYSONS CORNER, VA, Dec. 21, 2017 General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) has tapped Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) to provide integrated product and process development support for the U.S. Navy‘s Columbia-class submarines under a potential $468 million subcontract, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.
HII said Tuesday its Newport News Shipbuilding division received the subcontract from General Dynamics Electric Boat in efforts to complete design, detail planning, engineering analysis and component development work on the 12-submarine Columbia class as part of Electric Boat’s $5 billion detailed design contract with the Navy.
