TYSONS CORNER, VA, Nov. 17, 2017 General Atomics has collaborated with a subsidiary of Intelsat (NYSE: I) to test the beam switching capability of a Block 5 Predator B/MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aircraft system connected to the Intelsat 29e satellite, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.
Intelsat Generalsaid Wednesday the test worked to demonstrate the first in-flight switch of a Reaper on a high-throughput satellite with multiple-spot beam design and served to facilitate the drone’s expanded operations on an Intelsat EpicNG platform.
