TYSONS CORNER, VA, Oct. 31, 2017 Inmarsat has named Arianespace as the launch services provider for the upcoming fifth Global Xpress communications satellite that Thales Alenia Space is building based on the updated Spacebus 4000 B2 platform, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
Arianespace said Friday it will launch GX-5 from the Guiana Space Center in the French Guiana in 2019 using an Ariane 5 heavy-lift launcher, after which the satellite will provide services to Europe, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East as part of the GX constellation.
