October 30th Morning Report: GovCon Index Down For The Week, Stock Market Up

The Executive Mosaic GovCon Index (GCI) closed Friday down 1.62 points or 1.47 percent from Monday’s open, settling at 108.162. McKesson Corp. was down 5.52 percent for the day at Friday’s close.

The three major indices all advanced Friday with the S&P500 and NASDAQ Composite reaching new highs. The S&P500 closed up 0.81 percent to 2,581.07, while the DJIA closed at 23,434.19 a positive 0.14 percent. The NASDAQ Composite was the story of the day surging 144.49 points to 6,701.26 up 2.20 percent lead by a strong performance with technology stocks.

WTI crude oil on the NY Mercantile Exchange took a positive jump to $53.97 per barrel up 2.50 percent.
