TYSONS CORNER, VA, Oct. 19, 2017 Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) are working to develop designs for an extra large unmanned undersea vehicle after the U.S. Navy awarded the companies two separate contracts for the program, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.
USNI News reported Tuesday the service branch has awarded $42.3 million to Boeing and $43.2 million to Lockheed to perform work and prepare a technical data package under the design phase of the Orca XLUUV effort that seeks to integrate an independent unmanned system with manned ships.
