TYSONS CORNER, VA, Oct. 4, 2017 A Thales-sponsored study by the Ponemon Institute has found that a majority of information technology security professionals see cloud-based services and the internet of things as the biggest drivers of public key infrastructure usage, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
Thales e-Securitysaid Tuesday the 2017 PKI Global Trends Report notes 54 percent of respondents believe cloud is the top trend to influence the deployment of PKI-based applications, followed by 40 percent for IoT.
The survey of more than 1,500 IT security practitioners around the world indicates opportunities with the use of PKI for establishing trust in IoT and cloud services, the company added.
