Scott Briggs, formerly director of business development at ViON, has joined Belcan as senior vice president of government strategic business unit under the Cincinnati, Ohio-based engineering and technical recruiting firms government services segment.
Briggs will oversee the segments engineering, scientific and technical groups to facilitate the delivery of services to clients, Belcan said Wednesday.
Lee Shabe, president of Belcans government services group, said he looks forward to collaborating with Briggs to support clients and expand the companys market presence.
Briggs is a 20-year engineering and technology industry veteran and has been serving in the U.S. Navy Reserve for nearly two decades as a master chief petty officer and intelligence analyst.
During his time at ViON, he was responsible for U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and NASA programs as well as the delivery of enterprise information technology and converged platforms to government and commercial clients.
Prior to ViON, he served as a director of systems engineering at Sensor Technologies that was acquired by ManTech International (Nasdaq: MANT) in 2010.
His private sector career includes time as VP and director of training at Preliator Group, project manager at Lucent Technologies and engineering technician at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Anadigics.
Briggs spent a decade in the Navy as a sonar technician.
