TYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 29, 2017 — Iridium Communications (Nasdaq: IRDM) CEO Matt Desch has said the company’s Certus multi-service communications platform will be available commercially next year to support the maritime and aviation sectors, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
Desch, an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017, told Runway Girl Network in an interview published Thursday that Iridium is working with partners to prepare the underlying technology that will facilitate the Iridium Next-powered Certus 350 service for the maritime industry and Certus 700 for aviation customers.
“We believe that by the end of next year, and definitely into 2019, we’ll have a powerful portfolio of products to offer the industry that won’t have any peers in terms of performance,” he said.
