Lockheed’s Rick Ambrose: AR/VR, 3D Printing & AI to Shape Satellite Production

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 18, 2017 — Rick Ambrose, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) space systems segment, has said the future of satellite production will be driven by developments in augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing and artificial intelligence, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.

Ambrose, an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017, wrote in an article published Aug. 3 that satellite engineers will be able to use AR/VR tools to perform design and troubleshooting work, additive manufacturing technologies to build materials and AI systems to serve as virtual assistants.
