TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 11, 2017 Sam Gordy, general manager of IBMs (NYSE: IBM) federal business, has said the U.S. Army has utilized the company’s Watson artificial intelligence platform to predict mechanical issues on Stryker vehicles, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
Gordy, an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017, told FCW in an article published Friday that the Watson deployment was part of a pilot program that began 2016, which the report says could drive further government and military adoption of AI technology.
Gordy also noted that the U.S. Census Bureau could soon use Watson as a “first-line” call center for the 2020 census.
