TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 21, 2017 Mark Fletcher, chief architect of Avayas worldwide public safety solutions business, is co-chair of an accessibility committee working group within the National Emergency Number Association that has partnered with its European counterpart to standardize a first responder strategy that utilizes modern technology, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.
The company said Wednesday NENA in the U.S. and the European Emergency Number Association in Brussels will work to update legacy systems into IP-based “Next Generation 9-1-1” systems in order to accommodate video, pictures, text and data alongside voice and provide context to the information.
Fletcher co-chairs the NENA accessibility committee’s emergency notification working group for persons with disabilities.
