TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 12, 2017 Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC) has released a report that points to similarities in the hacking tools and techniques used by a cyber espionage group dubbed Longhorn and what appears to be CIA, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
The company said Monday the Vault 7 documents that WikiLeaks claims to detail CIA hacking practices contain similarities and potential links with the observed behavior of Longhorn.
“Given the close similarities between the tools and techniques, there can be little doubt that Longhorn’s activities and the Vault 7 documents are the work of the same group,” Symantec noted.
