Aicha Evans
Aicha Evans, a senior vice president at Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) and former general manager of its communication and devices group, has been appointed as chief strategy officer of the Santa Clara, California-based technology company.
She aims to help drive Intel’s strategy to transform its reputation from a personal computer-focused company to a data-centric one, the company said Wednesday.
“Aicha is an industry visionary who will help our senior management team and the board of directors focus on what’s next for Intel,” Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said.
“Her new role reflects her strong strategic leadership across Intel’s business, most importantly in 5G and other communications technology,” Krzanich added.
Evans has led efforts to drive wireless engineering for multi-communications technology platforms such as WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth in her previous role.
She also served as general manager of the company’s wireless platform research and development group.
Evans began her Intel career in 2006 as a software integration and test manager and has since served in management positions responsible for the company’s wireless efforts.
She previously held engineering management roles at Rockwell Semiconductors, Conexant and Skyworks.
