TYSONS CORNER, VA, March 9, 2017 Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has reached a milestone for systems engineering work on the final software iteration of the U.S. Air Force‘s GPS Next-Generation Operational Control System, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.
The company said Tuesday it followed a DevOps approach that utilizes commercial cloud technologies as well as automation and software development processes in support of larger efforts to secure the GPS III satellites’ ground control system against cyber threats.
“These software development innovations are helping to drive OCX capabilities, the replacement of the legacy GPS ground system and significant enhancements to GPS overall,” said Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheons intelligence, information and services business and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017.
