TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 20, 2017 ” The U.S. Army has awarded IBM (NYSE: IBM) a potential five-year, $62 million task order to create and manage an on-premise private cloud platform as part of the military service’s Army Private Cloud Enterprise program, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.
IBM said Wednesday the task order also covers infrastructure-as-a-service support for the Army facility in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
“Clients today are increasingly looking at the cloud as a pathway to innovation, ” said Sam Gordy, general manager of IBM™s federal business.
He added that the IBM cloud program will support the Army’s efforts to address security challenges resulting from multiple ingress and egress points.
