TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 3, 2017 ” SpaceX has scheduled the initial launch of Iridium Communications‘ (Nasdaq: IRDM) NEXT satellites on Jan. 8 after investigations revealed cause of the Falcon 9 rocket explosion, ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday.
The Washington Post reported Monday the company discovered the cause to be a pressure vessel in the second-stage liquid oxygen tank that leaked supercooled liquid oxygen.
“We are back on the path for a first launch and, yes, I feel very confident that the issue that was found won™t be repeated for our launch, ” said Iridium CEO Matt Desch.
