TYSONS CORNER, VA, Dec. 21, 2016 BAE Systems‘ U.S. arm will help engineer and install new submarine weapon systems under a potential five-year, $368 million U.S. Navy contract awarded in October, GovCon Executive reported Thursday.
The contract will also involve information technology support, engineering services and test equipment evaluations, training program services, facility maintenance monitoring and nuclear and conventional weapons safety assistance, the company said Dec. 14.
“We provide expertise to the Navy to maintain, optimize, and deploy seaborne weapons systems that serve as a strategic deterrent against major threats to the security of our nation and its allies, ” said DeEtte Gray, president of the intelligence and security sector at BAE Systems Inc.
