TYSONS CORNER, VA, Dec. 16, 2016 A team comprised of Boeing(NYSE: BA), Southwest Research Institute and the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining has received a four-year, $6.7 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to assist in the development of a robotic technology, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.
SwRI said Wednesday the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Advanced Automation for Agile Aerospace Applications program requires the team to create a mobile multipurpose robotic platform that will work to support a variety of aerospace manufacturing and maintenance processes.
