Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has won a potential three-year, $149 million contract to produce AN/SLQ-32 electronic warfare systems and subsystems for the U.S. Navy.
The Naval Sea Systems Command received two proposals for the firm-fixed-price contract and will obligate the full contract amount at the time of award, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
The contract covers full-rate production of AN/SLQ-32(V)6 and AN/SLQ-32A(V)6 subsystems as well as AN/SLQ-32C(V)6 systems under Block 2 of the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program, which aims to upgrade shipboard electronic warfare tools in order to detect and analyze threats and offer protection from anti-ship missiles.
SEWIP Block 2 seeks to update the electronic support antenna, ES receiver and open combat platform interface for the AN/SLQ-32 EW system in an effort to build up the EW systems detection functions as well as keep pace with threats.
Lockheeds mission systems and training business will perform work in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Minnesota, Alabama and the U.K., through November 2019, according to DoD.
