TYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 12, 2016 Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has teamed with Elbit Systems to pursue a contract with the U.K. defense ministry for the update of the Challenger 2 tanks under the British army’s Life Extension Project, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.
Lockheed said Wednesday the team plans to perform work at its Ampthill site in Bedfordshire in support of the program, which seeks to extend the service life of the battle tanks through 2035.
