Mark Horan, formerly a vice president and general manager at Dell, has joined Avalon Technologies as CEO.
Horan will work to help Avalon refine the companys market strategies, expand its sales and technical teams and extend the business into the education, healthcare and commercial enterprise industries, Avalon said Tuesday.
The 35-year industry veteran most recently led Dells team of sales professionals that oversaw commercial and public sector accounts and the advanced systems group.
“Mark has worked at the highest levels of the [information technology] industry and his expertise, relationships, and stellar reputation as a customer advocate will have an immediate impact at Avalon, ” said Brian Flynn, Avalon founder.
Horan held sales and marketing positions at IBM (NYSE: IBM) for 15 years before he joined Dell.
