TYSONS CORNER, VA, June 6, 2016 Steve Harris, vice president and general manager of Dell‘s federal systems business, believes a proposed $3.1 billion revolving fund for information technology modernization would complement the implementation of the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act, Executive Gov reported Thursday.
Harris told FierceGovernmentIT in an interview posted Wednesday that the White House proposal would work to help federal agencies build on IT investments and drive up ratings in IT portfolio review savings as part of their FITARA scorecards.
He added that greater budgetary autonomy for agency chief information officers would also facilitate progress in FITARA implementation.
“The CIOs are the ones who are responsible for creating cost optimal, highly available, scalable, very secure environments that would support multiple silos of mission capabilities, ” Harris said.
