TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 10, 2016 Chris Pehrson, senior director of strategic development for General Atomics‘ aeronautical systems business, has said the automatic takeoff and landing update to the MQ-9 Reaper is ready for deployment, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.
Flightglobal reported Wednesday that Pehrson has indicated that the U.S. Air Force has included the update in its five-year Reaper program plan for fiscal year 2017.
“[Auto takeoff and landing is] going to give you a 3, 000-feet runway capability, ” he told the publication.
