Alan Callaghan
Alan Callaghan, a 13-year veteran of Harris (NYSE: HRS), has been named president and managing director of the communications and information technology company’s reorganized defense business in Australia that operates as Harris Defence Australia.
He will oversee the Brisbane-based organization’s business development, operations, shared services, government relations and marketing initiatives across the Australian defense sector, Harris said Friday.
Callaghan will also be responsible for helping grow the company’s infrastructure, partnerships and footprint in the region.
Melbourne, Fla.-headquartered Harris has 150 employees in Australia and has worked in the country for at least 25 years.
He has held various roles of increasing responsibility throughout his career at Harris, more recently as vice president of international sales and managing director of Asia Pacific operations for the company’s communications segment.
He joined Harris after he served in the Australian air force and retired as a wing commander.
