TYSONS CORNER, VA, January 15, 2016 Boeing (NYSE: BA) has upgraded six B-52 bomber planes of the U.S. Air Force with increased capacity for internal weapons, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.
The company said Wednesday the upgraded internal weapons bay launchers can load up to eight Joint Direct Attack Munitions.
“The upgrades to the B-52 bomber’s internal weapons bay have made it possible to have zero gap on the bomber’s long-range bombing capabilities as we transfer from Conventional Air Launched Cruise Missiles to Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile Extended Range, ” said Col. Tim Dickinson, Air Force B-52 program director.
