Applied Energetics Names Chris Donaghey & Scott Andrews to Its Board of Directors

Applied Energetics has appointed Chris Donaghey and Scott Andrews as the newest members of its board of directors.

The ultrashort pulse directed energy and laser systems company said Monday Donaghey, the company CEO, and Andrews, a new independent director, officially assumed their new roles on June 4. The board will have seven directors, including four independent ones.

The Applied Energetics executive brings over 20 years of experience in aerospace, defense and capital markets. He has been the company’s CEO since 2024 and is currently serving on the advisory board of SecureFoundry and Silicon Valley Defense Group. Donaghey previously served at SAIC, KeyW and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey.

Scott Andrews

Andrews is a seasoned executive with decades of experience in various sectors, including manufacturing, transportation, financial services, entrepreneurship, and higher education. He is currently the chair of the Virginia Retirement System’s board of trustees.

“Adding Chris to our board of directors now is a natural next step given his deep knowledge of our company and defense tech, along with his extensive leadership experience. Chris will be a tremendous asset to our Board as we continue to drive innovation, productization and work to deliver groundbreaking solutions to our customers,” Brad Adamczyk, chairman of the board of directors.
