BAE Systems’ Land and Armaments subsidiary has received a $356.7 million contract modification from the U.S. Army for the procurement of armored multi-purpose vehicles as part of ongoing efforts to modernize the fleet.
AMPV Production Contract Details
The Department of Defense said Thursday the company will conduct the work for the project in York, Pennsylvania. It is anticipated to be completed by May 31, 2028.
The Army Contracting Command at Detroit Arsenal in Michigan, as the contracting activity, allocated the full amount from the Army’s fiscal 2025 weapons and tracked combat vehicle procurement funds at the time of the award.
BAE Systems was previously awarded a $184 million contract modification valued at $184 million in October 2024 for the delivery of 48 AMPVs to the Army. The initial contract, awarded in 2023, covered the production of 450 units valued at $797 million. They were intended to replace the Army’s legacy M113s and strengthen the Armored Brigade Compact Teams.
