Naval Research Lab Posts Solicitation for High-Performance Computing R&D Support Contract

The Naval Research Laboratory has begun seeking proposals for a potential $111.5 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide research and development, engineering, technical and transition support services for high-performance computing systems.

A notice posted on SAM.gov states that the NRL Center for Computational Science requires research and development of computing and networking devices, systems and architectures used across the U.S. Navy.

Tasks include high-performance computing and next-generation network protocol design; hardware and software system design and maintenance; support for the development of information assurance tools and performance monitoring techniques; large data federated, distributed infrastructure technology and global information grid demonstrations; and other engineering support.

The NRL CCS also requires support for scientific and engineering programming of high-end computer and network systems and transitioning systems from development to initial fielding.

Responses are due April 8.
