SAIC Veteran Jim Scanlon Named Radiance Technologies President

Jim Scanlon, a board member at Radiance Technologies since 2021, has been appointed president of the Huntsville, Alabama-based defense technology services contractor.

Scanlon, who has served as chairman of the board’s governance committee and member of audit and compensation panels, will continue to serve on Radiance’s board in addition to his role as president, the company said Wednesday.

Radiance CEO Bill Bailey said Scanlon has been updating the company’s business policies and providing mentorship support for group managers and senior executive vice presidents and his experience will be key as the company works to transition from a small business into a large enterprise.

Scanlon, a U.S. Air Force veteran, had a 32-year career at Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC), culminating in his role as executive VP and general manager of defense systems.

He started his career at SAIC in 1988 as a project engineer and held positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of business development, program management, strategic planning and business operations.

Founded in 1999, Radiance is an employee-owned company that provides cybersecurity, prototyping, systems engineering, integration and strategic and operational intelligence support for defense, intelligence and civilian agency customers.
