Leidos, Amwell to Provide DHA With New Virtual Health Platform Under $180M Task Order

Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) has booked a 22-month, $180 million task order to upgrade the Defense Health Agency’s military virtual health platform.

The company said Thursday it will work with Amwell (NYSE: AMWL) to install a replacement for the Military Health System Video Connect tool as part of the federal Digital First initiative.

DHA’s Program Executive Office – Defense Healthcare Management Systems awarded the contract, which involves the deployment of Amwell’s Converge platform initially at five sites. The project includes self-guided resources and medical consultation for mental health and wellness.

The Leidos Partnership for Defense Health will provide services such as change management to help implement Digital First, which includes the MHS Genesis electronic medical record system.

“Digital First addresses DHA’s goal of better outcomes, new processes, innovation and increased standardization based on evidence,” said Jason McCarthy, senior vice president of military and veterans health solutions at Leidos. “As part of our overall MHS GENESIS effort to enhance patient experience, we, along with Amwell, are looking forward to delivering this solution for DHA’s providers and patients.”

The U.S. health care system will be the focus of the Potomac Officers Club’s conference on Dec. 6. Join POC’s 2023 Healthcare Summit by registering here.
